Tom Healey is celebrating ten years as a bandleader with a big anniversary bash in his hometown. The Tom Healey Band will appear with special guests at the Watervliet A.O.H., 1021 9th Ave., on Friday, June 7th at 7 p.m. Along with its strong original material, the Tom Healey Band plays a wide repertoire of American music, including blues, r ‘n' b, country, soul, funk and rock ‘n' roll from Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Hank Williams, Otis Redding, Sly and the Family Stone, and Louis Prima.

"I'd like to thank all our loyal fans who have supported the band for the past decade," Healey said. "The Capital Region has the best clubs and the best people. We love to play, and to have such great supporters is a tremendous feeling. The fact that people enjoy what we do makes playing even more rewarding. Hopefully, we'll be doin' it for another decade!"

First with Good Friday, and for the past couple of years, the Tom Healey Band, Healey has played thousands of gigs, mostly right here in the Capital Region, with a few significant exceptions. The Tom Healey Band played in February at the Blue City Cafe in Memphis on Beale Street in the prestigious "International Blues Competition." Over the years, Healey's band has opened shows for many national acts, including Bill Wyman's Rhythm King's, Bo Diddley, Roomful of Blues, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Eddie Money, Black 47, The Boneshakers, Tinsley Ellis, Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, the Honky Tonk Gurus and many more.
